The north american client placed an order with us last year, which included AR500 steel plates at a special thickness of 15.26 mm. Before this order, our maximum production thickness for steel plate only reached 9.7 mm. If we turned down this special request due to technical limits, we would lose the whole overseas order. Sanhe Steel’s engineers fully tracked all details of the 15.26 mm plates, including thickness, dimensions, design, chemical composition and production processes. After strict lab tests, all mechanical indicators of our newly developed thick steel plate, such as yield strength and tensile strength, fully matched the client’s standards. Today, Sanhe Steel can mass produce 15 mm steel plates smoothly.

AR500 is not intended for secondary heat treatment; properties are achieved via quenching, and will degrade if exposed to temperatures exceeding 250°C.
