Standard plate steel, also named structural steel plate, is flat hot rolled carbon steel sheet with uniform thickness, designed to bear static and dynamic loads in construction and manufacturing structures. It is produced by continuous hot rolling of steel slabs into steel coils, then leveled, cut and flattened into finished steel plates.

Standard structural steel plate features uniform thickness, stable tensile strength, good weldability and bendability. Common standard grades include Q235B, Q355B, which are widely recognized as universal structural materials. Standard plate steel has standardized size tolerances, flatness and surface quality rules, and can be processed by cutting, welding, bending and drilling without complex pre-treatment, making it the most widely used base material for structural engineering.

What are the four most common types of steel that Sanhe Steel can provide?

1. Steel Plate

This is our core mainstream product, made of Q235B/Q355B carbon steel. Thickness range 6–100mm, width 1250/1500/1800/2000mm. Suitable for main load-bearing structures of buildings, bridges and machinery frames. Monthly spot stock reaches 4,200 tons.

2. Medium and Heavy Plate

Heavy-duty structural steel plate with thickness 14mm to 100mm, high yield strength, strong impact resistance. Mainly used for bridge girders, engineering equipment bases and large pressure vessel manufacturing. We supply 1,800 tons medium heavy plate per month for infrastructure clients.

3. Checkered Plate

Anti-slip patterned structural steel plate with raised diamond patterns on surface, thickness 3-12mm. It combines structural strength and anti-slip performance, widely used for workshop floor, stair treads and vehicle chassis. Our factory can custom cut checkered plate into fixed sizes in batch.

4. Hot Rolled Plate

Raw hot rolled flat steel processed directly from hot steel coils, the base material of all structural steel plate series. We stock large hot rolled steel coils in warehouse, support slitting, leveling and shearing to produce finished steel plate as customer required dimensions. Raw coil monthly storage capacity exceeds 5,000 tons.
