The galvanized surface can have a bright silver-gray or more matte appearance depending on the galvanizing process, coating characteristics and surface treatment.

Q1: What is the difference between base thickness and total thickness for galvanized checker plate?
A: Base thickness is the thickness of carbon steel substrate, which decides load-bearing capacity. Zinc coating adds very little thickness. When you place order, you should specify base steel thickness instead of total measured thickness, to avoid receiving thinner substrate.
Q2: Will galvanized checker plate get rust?
A: Hot-dip galvanized layer provides long-term protection for base steel. If coating is scratched through mechanical impact, base steel at scratch point may rust. For coastal heavy salt-spray environment, we suggest choosing higher zinc coating weight such as Z275.
