1.5-100mm Checkered Plate

Sanhe Steel is a China manufacturer and supplier of 1.5-100mm checkered plate, rolling the anti-slip pattern into the plate rather than welding or bonding it on. The range runs from 1.5 mm light sheet to 100 mm heavy structural plate, in teardrop, diamond, 5-bar and 2-bar patterns, with hot-dip galvanizing available. Send the thickness, pattern and cut sizes for a quote.

Sanhe Steel 1.5-100mm Checkered Plate

Sanhe Steel is a 1.5-100mm checkered plate manufacturer and factory-direct supplier in China. Both ends of the range are rolled in house, so light sheet and heavy structural plate leave one works with one set of mill certificates. Cut-to-size blanks run on CNC shearing and leveling lines, with thickness tolerance held to +/- 0.8 mm on stock. Galvanizing, blasting and priming are finishing steps in the same facility. Every batch ships with a mill test certificate, and EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 with third-party inspection can be arranged. Buyers working to a drawing are quoted from the drawing, and pattern height, cut sizes and packing are agreed on a sample. MOQ, lead time and price list follow the specification: stock ships in 7-15 days from Qingdao, custom rolling in 15-35 days.

How the Pattern Is Formed

The 1.5-100mm checkered plate carries a raised pattern rolled into its surface while the steel is still hot. The pattern and the base plate are one piece of steel, so there is no layer to peel, no weld to crack and no adhesive to fail. That is the difference between a rolled checkered plate and a plate with a tread mat or an anti-slip coating fixed to it.

The 1.5-100mm designation is unusual in this product family. Most suppliers stock a narrow band, typically 3-12 mm, and step out of it only on request. This range covers both ends of the market: thin sheet for counter tops, shelf decks and light pedestrian surfaces, and 100 mm heavy plate for bridge walkways and plant platforms that carry vehicles rather than people.

The practical consequence is that a fabricator can buy light and heavy anti-slip plate from one supplier, in one pattern family, with one set of mill certificates. For a project that mixes stair treads with vehicle ramps, that removes a second vendor and a second set of paperwork.

Pattern Options

Four patterns are produced, and the choice is usually made by the duty the surface has to carry rather than by appearance.

Pattern

Form

Pattern height

Where it is used

Teardrop (1-bar / lenticular)

Single oval raised bar, single direction

0.6-2.0 mm

Walkways, stair treads, pedestrian decking

Diamond (rhombic)

Two-directional raised diamonds

0.6-2.0 mm

General flooring, vehicle decks, platforms

5-bar (willow)

Five raised bars per group, multi-directional

0.6-2.0 mm

Wet or oily areas, ramps, machine surrounds

2-bar

Two broad raised bars

0.6-2.0 mm

Heavy duty walking surfaces, thick plate

Pattern height is stated per order. On thin sheet the pattern has to stay shallow so the plate can still be bent; on thick plate a taller pattern gives more grip but makes the surface harder to sweep. Buyers usually fix the height once, on a sample, and keep it for the project.

Thickness Bands and What Each Band Is For

· 1.5-3 mm: light anti-slip sheet for shelf decks, counter tops, small access panels and step covers. Easily cut and bent on site.

· 3-6 mm: the working range for industrial floors, stair treads and walkway planks, balancing grip with weldability.

· 6-12 mm: platforms, ramps and vehicle decks where the plate also carries structural load.

· 12-40 mm: heavy platforms, dock surfaces and machine bases; pattern retained through the thicker section.

· 40-100 mm: bridge walkways, plant road plates and heavy structural decking, normally cut to drawing at the works.

Applications

Bridge and infrastructure walkways are the main use of the heavy end of this range: highway bridge pedestrian walkways, railway maintenance platforms, municipal bridge stair treads and viaduct anti-slip passages. A recent order for a New Zealand highway bridge renovation covered 480 tonnes of galvanized 1.5-100mm checkered plate, cut to special shapes before shipment. Every 1.5-100mm checkered plate order is produced on the same rolling line, so a project can take both thickness ends from one consignment.

At the lighter end the same pattern family goes into factory floors, conveyor walkways, mezzanine decking, vehicle bed floors and machine surrounds. Both ends use the same rolling process and the same inspection routine, and both are quoted from the same stock position.

Rolling, Leveling and Inspection

The pattern is impressed in the final rolling stand while the plate is hot, which is why it cannot be separated from the base metal. After rolling, plate is leveled on the flattening line, then cut on CNC shearing equipment to length or to a shaped blank.

Inspection covers pattern integrity and base plate thickness on every batch, with mechanical properties tested in the CNAS-accredited in-house laboratory. Mill test certificates ship with each consignment, and thickness tolerance is held to within +/- 0.8 mm on standard stock items. Mill test certificates are issued per batch for each 1.5-100mm checkered plate consignment, with the pattern height recorded on the inspection sheet.

Why Choose Sanhe Steel?

Two questions matter when buying 1.5-100mm checkered plate in bulk: can the supplier hold the thickness and the pattern specification, and can they document it. The company operates its own rolling and processing lines in Qingdao Jiaozhou and holds CNAS laboratory accreditation for material testing, so the certificate that ships with the plate is issued against a test run on the same batch.

The company is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF 16949, and the plates carry CE marking under the EU Construction Products Regulation. Stock items normally ship in 7-15 days, and custom rolling or cutting runs 15-35 days depending on quantity and pattern.

FAQ

Q1: Can the anti-slip pattern come off the plate?

A: No. The pattern is rolled into the plate while it is hot, so pattern and base metal are one piece. There is no bonding layer and no welded tread to work loose.

Q2: What is the difference between teardrop and diamond pattern?

A: Teardrop gives grip in one direction and is common on walkways and stair treads. Diamond grips in two directions and is used where loads move across the surface, such as vehicle decks and platforms.

Q3: Is 1.5 mm checkered plate strong enough for a walkway?

A: It is used for pedestrian surfaces with proper support spacing. Stating the support centres and the load per square metre at enquiry stage lets us confirm the thickness rather than guess it.

Q4: Do you supply galvanized checkered plate?

A: Yes. Hot-dip galvanizing is available across the range, and it is the usual specification for outdoor bridge walkways in coastal or salted-road environments.

Q5: What documents come with the shipment?

A: Mill test certificates for each batch, plus EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 on request and third-party inspection if the project requires it. Packing lists and customs documents are prepared for export.
